1) Recruitment weekend follows President’s Day weekend, and you are welcome to come to any of the events. Of particular interest are the events with free food. See the schedule (below) for the exact times and places. Please RSVP to Christal Winter if you are planning on coming so that we have enough food. 

2) Also, please RSVP to Ron June if you can bring a poster to the poster session on Friday night (Feb 24).

4) Finally, there has been talk of starting a UC Davis student chapter of BMES. Contact Ron June, if you’re interested in this.

9:30AM-12:30PM Med Center Tours – Radiology and Orthopedics Labs, Center for Biophotonics (Sacramento)

1:30-4 PM Advising and Meetings with Professors

Student Faculty Lunch THIS Friday 1/27:

• Ron will count the RSVPs and get order numbers to Charles by Thursday night.
• Charles will check with both Lamppost (who may offer a 25% discount) and Papa Johns before ordering.
• Jiawei and Julia will help with setup and cleanup of the Gathering Space.
• Lunch starts at 11:30 (to accomodate students with 12:00 classes)

Other Fun stuff:

• Mike will look into 2 possible events with MAE, a ski trip and a bowling night.

Recruitment Weekend:

• Christal will send the schedule out to everyone.
• Everyone, please send comments to Christal and Tonya by Friday.
• Also, please try to keep the weekend of Feb 24 to 26 available to help (drive vans, give tours, eat free food, etc) with the weekend.

Retreat:

• The Marconi Center near Bodega Bay sounded like the best choice, but at an estimated cost of $150 to 200 per person for both nights.
• Tonya will look to get a commitment from the faculty regarding whether or not these costs are feasible.

Miscellany:

• Mallika will check into BMES membership, including if there’s a Northern California chapter.
• The 3 M’s (Mike, Mallika, and Michaelann) will work out a Costco run to restock the snack box.
• April 1st (not a joke) is our date to volunteer for Davis Community Meals. Please get in touch with Cater if you have any questions, but we need 10 volunteers to show up.
